Adventures of a Cake Diva

A Blog About Adventures in Baking and Cake Decorating

About Me 09/04/2011

Hi, I’m Brooke.  I am a self-taught baker and cake decorator.  I read everything that I can get my hands on about baking and cake decorating, and I’m a major fan of the tutorials found on You Tube.  My best teacher has been (and continues to be) trial and error.  Whenever I pull-off something in my kitchen, I celebrate by doing a little happy dance.  Always.

What is it about cake?  There is something fulfilling about taking a few simple ingredients and creating something lovely and delicious.  But, for me, there’s more to it.

If you think about it, cake plays a role in most important life milestones.  After all, what’s a birthday without a cake lit with candles?  Wouldn’t a wedding reception seem a little odd if the bride and groom didn’t have a cake to cut? (Gasp!)  I’ve had the joy (and honor) of making cakes for my friends and family to celebrate such milestones in their lives.  I’ve got to tell you, at least for me, there’s nothing like it.

When it comes down to it, cake is an expression of love.  That’s what drives this cake obsession of mine.  It’s all about the love.

Do you have a caking question for me, or would you just like to say “hello”?  I’d love to hear from you!  Just shoot me an email at cakediva@mail.com.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking the chicken curry recipe. It really is fabulous and not too difficult either. A great change of pace from the regular ways we make chicken. I have also made it with red curry which is about twice as strong as regular curry. It’s delicious that way too, but only the hearty and those used to spices can handle it that way.

Chicken curry is one of my favorites. Looking forward to trying out your recipe! I’ll steer clear of the red curry, though! 🙂

I’ve recently switched my food blog over to be self-hosted which I hope will make it more user-friendly in the future. As a result, if you were following Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen via email, WordPress, or using RSS feeds through Google Reader or some other way, you are no longer subscribed. If you wish to continue receiving future posts from my blog you will need to re-subscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience, Teresa.
